Formula E has revealed the 2.47km circuit situated at the Tempelhof Airport in the city centre. The circuit has 17 turns and will host the eighth round of the inaugural Formula E championship. The design was unveiled by Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag who was joined by German Formula E drivers Nick Heifeld and Daniel Abt.  The circuit has been created by Rodrigo Nunes, who is also responsible for the design of the Beijing ePrix street circuit.

Heidfeld says he is excited about the unique setting of the Berlin ePrix and is confident it will be a huge success.

“It’s going to be very special racing in front of my home crowd and I’m really looking forward to it,” Heidfeld said. “It will be the first time for me racing on somewhere like this so should have its own special atmosphere. It looks like it’s going to be a very twisty and challenging circuit with 17 turns in under 2.5km and I think the fans are going to have great visibility wherever they are.”
