This little Fortwo was the original Smart model, launched in 1998. This Smart “Micro compact car” was designed primarily for urban use in European cities, where parking is scarce and fuel economy is of great importance. Not really a big plus point in Malaysia as we have subsidised fuel and at the time ample parking space. The Smart Fortwo’s length of only 250cm allowed as many as three of the vehicles to be parked in the space normally taken by one standard-length car. In Klang Valley today, we will appreciate the latest Smart Fortwo.
