Audi issues recall in the U.S. for Takata airbags

On the advice of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Audi of America is recalling 170,000 automobiles from model year 2005 through 2014. Audi has been informed by the authorities that certain driver side front airbags made by the manufacturer Takata could be defective. Products from the Japanese manufacturer are also fitted into Audi models in the U.S.
