Hundreds of Hyundai Cars Set to Support UEFA EURO 2016

Hyundai Motor today handed over the keys of vehicles that will help transport key figures, officials and VIPs around France at UEFA EURO 2016™. The vehicles were presented at an official vehicle handover ceremony at the St. Denis, Paris, as part of Hyundai Motor’s agreement to provide official vehicles for the smooth running of the 2016 UEFA European Championship from June 10 to July 10, 2016.

As an official partner of the international football competition, due to be watched by millions of football fans around the world, Hyundai Motor will assist match delegates, UEFA staff, referees, media, security officers and VIP guests throughout the 2016 UEFA European Championship. Among the 361 Hyundai vehicles provided for the tournament this year, the official fleet includes flagship Hyundai models Genesis, Santa Fe, Tucson and i20. Hyundai Motor will also be in charge of branding 12 national team buses as they transport players between stadia.

The UEFA EURO 2016™ official vehicle handover ceremony at St. Denis, Paris – France’s national stadium and eventual venue for the 2016 UEFA European Championship Final on July 10 – was held under the presence of Hyundai Motor Europe President Hyung Cheong Kim; Hyundai Motor France President Kyoo Bok Lee; UEFA Events SA Marketing Director, Guy-Laurent Epstein; former EURO champion, Ruud Gullit from the Netherlands, as well as other important guests.

Hyundai Motor has been an official partner of the UEFA European Football Championship for 16 years. As an Official Partner of the UEFA European Football Championship, Hyundai Motor has played a key role in providing official vehicles for national football teams, players, officials and guests as well as staging various events and promotions in support of the competition. From years 2014 to 2016, Hyundai Motor has provided a total of 428 vehicles for the EUFA European Football Championship.

With this year’s slogan being ‘Real Fans First’, Hyundai Motor will get a step closer to its customers. Hyundai Motor has started its marketing campaign showing devotion to EURO 2016 and dedication to enhance the experience for real football fans since April 15. Hyundai Motor launched the innovative ‘Digital Fan Park’, an interactive online space created for football fans to intensify their enjoyment of EURO 2016.

During the first half of the campaign from April 15 to May 8, the Digital Fan Park has attracted a total of 37,000 participants in the Real Fans Licence and Real Fans Chauffeur campaign. As part of the Real Fans Licence campaign, Hyundai Motor gave out 480 tickets to the matches for fans who participated in the campaign. The second half of the Real Fans Match-up campaign will be held from June 1 to July 10 and a Hyundai i20 will be awarded to the lucky winner of a prize draw. The online video clip ‘Euro 2016 is coming’ has already reached over 33 million views on YouTube. A new video clip titled ‘The Wait’ will be on air from June 1 to July 10.The video portrays a little girl and a life-long fan going to watch a football match on a Hyundai vehicle and the match starting just as they arrive as if the match had been prepared for the real fans to enjoy.

Moreover, the UEFA EURO 2016 Bracket Predictor game will open on June 1. Fans can submit their prediction of tournament results and win prizes. The prize for the first place will be a tablet, smart watch and Hyundai Premium set consisting of a replica official match ball, mascot toy, cap and backpack.
