Inspired by the cool Yard Built specials created for Yamaha by the world’s leading custom builders, the XV950 Racer is aimed at today’s generation of free thinking riders who want a raw and authentic bike that’s ready to customise.

Not like the XV950 Bolt that was launched late last year, the XV950 Cafe Racer (like the name would suggest) adorns a number of cafe racer-inspired visual enhancements such as a new front cowling, aluminium side panels, single seat design with rear seat cover, as well as 12-spoke cast alloy wheels. The black and yellow colour scheme you see here is a nod to the brand’s 60th anniversary.

The XV950 Cafe Racer gets 52.1 PS at 5,500 rpm and 79.5 Nm of maximum torque at 3,000 rpm courtesy of an air-cooled 942 cc 60-degree V-twin mill. The engine is hooked to a five-speed transmission with final belt drive. The bike is built around a double cradle frame that is supported by a 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm with piggyback-style gas shocks at the rear. Braking power is provided by wave-style 298 mm discs with ABS at both ends.
