Engineering Explained is at it again, this time showing us how Ford have managed to sell the 5-litre V8 variant of the Mustang on a global level without breaking emissions regulations. The technology employed is called the ‘Charge Motion Control Valve’ and what it does is restrict airflow at lower RPMs. It’s not exactly variable valve timing, but the effect is comparable.
