2017 Triumph Street Scrambler Unveiled at EICMA

Triumph took the stage at EICMA 2016 motorcycle show in Milan to introduce the new Street Scrambler. The new bike is the latest member to join the Street Twin family, making use of the same 900cc high torque parallel-twin engine with liquid cooling and five-speed gearbox.

The Street Scrambler has the iconic Bonneville silhouette combined with clean lines, minimal bodywork and modern finishes including aluminium foil tank decal, graphite engine badging and rugged aluminium headlight mount.

That said, distinctive features such as an interchangeable pillion seat and aluminium rear rack, removable pillion pegs, ‘Bear Trap’ adventure style front pegs and bash plate set the Scrambler apart from the rest of the lineup. The bike is made available in three colours; Jet Black, Matt Khaki Green as well as Korosi Red and Frozen Silver with Jet Black coach lining and unique tank decals.

More than just a show pony, the Street Scrambler has the capability to take the beaten road thanks to its dedicated chassis with commanding riding position, wider handlebars and longer rear shocks. The bike rides on 17-inch rear and 19-inch front wheels wrapped in Metzeler Tourance tyres. The brakes have also been upgraded with a two-piston sliding axial Nissin caliper.

As for electronics, the Street Scrambler features switchable ABS, Ride-by-Wire throttle, traction control and torque assist clutch. LED rear light, engine immobiliser, USB charging socket and stylish twin clocks with a digital menu system are also included.

Just like the Street Twin, the Street Scrambler comes with more than 150 accessories to specially designed deliver a more rugged off-road look as well as everyday usability.
