Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe Rolls Into Malaysian Market

Infinti Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Q60 today. Having made its debut at last year’s Detroit Auto Show, the premium sports coupe is offered here in the sole 2.0L variant.

Characterized by flowing sculptural lines and muscular proportions, the Q60 sports unique features such as the double-arch grille and the crescent-cut C-pillars, which arc forward and emphasize the car’s dynamic quality.

LED headlights with light guide technology emulate the shape of the human eye, while 19-inch aluminium alloy wheels wrapped in 225/40 RF19 run-flat tyres, and the duck tail spoiler on the trunk lid lend the car a strong visual appeal.

The Q60 is available in five exterior colors, with ‘Dynamic Sunstone Red” completely new to the Infiniti range. The finish is protected by a tinted clear coat that also contributes to the depth of gloss.

Inside, the Q60 minimizes the number of buttons on the center console by incorporating twin touchscreens (8-inch upper and 7-inch lower) as part of the InTouch central control system. It is also fitted standard with an all-new, 13-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system that has been tailored to the acoustics of the cabin.

Also new in the cabin are Infiniti’s spinal support seats that have been engineered to match the curvature of the spine, providing support and minimizing pressure on lower and upper back muscles. Elsewhere, the sports coupe also gets Active Noise Cancellation with an acoustic windshield, as well as ambient lighting with soft-glow white LED.

The Q60 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder DGI turbocharged engine with 211 hp at 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm maximum torque from 1,250 to 3,500 rpm. The unit is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, which comes with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) that detects detect topographical changes in the road and enhances gear-select patterns according to the changing conditions.

The Q60 is fully customizable through the Drive Mode Selector (DMS) that can be accessed through the upper touchscreen. The system allows the drive mode to be selected from the following available options: ‘Standard’, ‘Snow’, ‘Sport’, and ‘Personal’. In ‘Sport’, the car selects a more aggressive shift pattern, holds on to gears longer and lets out a throatier exhaust note through the Active Sound Enhancement.

Safety-wise, the Q60 is equipped with six airbags as standard – driver and passenger front and side impact airbags, and roof-mounted curtain airbags. A pop-up engine hood is also standard, engineered to limit potential injury to pedestrians.

Fully imported from Japan, the Infiniti Q60 is priced at RM308,800 (inclusive of GST, without insurance) with a 7 year, unlimited mileage warranty. The car will be available for test drive starting from 7 May onwards.
