Ducati Shows A 2014 Diavel

Ducati-Diavel-Carbon-05

This is the latest Diavel From Ducati. It now boasts of a new engine and exhaust system as well as styling refinements that combine the sport cruiser’s muscular look with an elegance and sophistication. The new Diavel boosts Ducati’s Performance Redefined mantra by employing latest technologies to ensure that the super cruiser is primed for super-smooth performance, improved comfort and usability. The heart of this new Diavel the stout 1198cc Testastretta engine, still has 11 degrees of valve overlap, but revised intake and exhaust ports, together with what Ducati calls a “radical adjustment” of the cam timing, has enabled the Bologna company to improve the torque curve at low rpm while remaining strong through a wider range. Although the claimed peak horsepower remains at 162, it now peaks at 9,250 rpm versus last year’s 9,500 rpm. More significant, Ducati says the new Diavel produces 96.2 pound-feet of peak torque, up 2.2 from last year but arriving at the same 8,000 rpm.

The 162hp motorcycle’s dominant yet new styling perfectly complements the 205kg of pure Ducati drives. Not only that, Ducati made sure that precision remains one of the Diavel’s attributes by combining a specially engineered 240 section rear tire with Ducati’s chassis technology allowing its rider to experience extraordinary handling and lean angles that seem to go against the laws of physics.

The new Diavel could be availed in stylish Dark Stealth livery, a black trellis frame and black wheels making it more appealing when it cruise the streets. The Diavel Carbon could be availed with either the traditional Ducati Red over Matte Carbon with red frame or the new Star White over Matte Carbon with white frame. Both come with black, forged wheels by Marchesini.
