Sime Darby to start Volvo Car business in Ara Damansara

Yes, it is confirmed, Sime Darby Motors is venturing into the Volvo Car Business.

We wrote about this in May this year and we were met with some negative remarks from readers and industry players citing that we were wrong about the biggest BMW dealer in Malaysia, Auto Bavaria going into the Volvo Car business.

Conflict of interest? Not really as BMW does not see Volvo as their direct rival and only Mercedes-Benz and Audi are direct and immediate rivals.

At the launch of the Ingress Swede showroom, sales and service (Ingress Swede is the owners of Ingress Auto, one of the biggest BMW dealers in the country and also a Mitsubishi Motors dealer) yesterday at Mutiara Damansara, we asked the management team of Ingress Swede if their venture into the Volvo Car business was in any way a conflict with their premium german car business and their quick answer was no.

Both brands have their own fans and their unique selling propositions and by being a Volvo dealer they are just expanding their business portfolio and sharing the Volvo ownership experience with the growing and affluent residents of Desa Park City, Taman Tun, Mutiara and Damansara Perdana.

There is already a Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Audi and BMW showroom in the greater area to cater to the luxury car buyers and this Volvo Car showroom just adds colour to the luxury car landscape in the area.

Look out for the brand new Volvo Car showroom in Ara Damansara opening very soon under Sime Darby Motor Group.

With the opening of the 3 NEW luxury Swedish themed showrooms around the country in 2019, Volvo Cars in Malaysia is poised to ‘worry’ BMW and Mercedes in 2020 as the Volvo S60 performance sedan will be arriving together with an all new V40 hot hatch and also the much sought after plug-in hybrid XC40 crossover.
