Yamaha MT-15 Launched In Malaysia – RM11,988

The smallest bike in Yamaha’s Master of Torque (MT) range, the MT-15, has officially entered the Malaysian motorcycle market.

BHP diesel

Positioned below the MT-25, MT-07 and MT-09, the new model comes with a liquid-cooled, SOHC, single-cylinder 155 cc engine equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. It produces 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm.

Output is channeled to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox with Slipper & Assist clutch that requires less force to operate and helps to achieve smoother gear shifting.

Like other MT bikes, the MT-15 is built around a Deltabox frame, which is mated with an aluminium swingarm. At the front, there are inverted forks that promise faster steering response in tight corners.

The MT-15 is equipped with front and rear disc brakes and rolls on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyres. The fuel tank capacity is 10 litres and its overall weight is 133 kg. Also included are twin LED headlights and an LCD instrument panel.

Available in Ice Fluo and Yamaha Blue colour schemes, the MT-15 is priced at RM11,988 excluding insurance and registration fees. Every purchase comes with a free pewter keychain from Royal Selangor and a brake disc lock.
