It’s fair to say that motorcycles and snow generally don’t go together but when the two elements meet, the result can be astounding.
For instance, take a look at this latest promotional clip by Red Bull. It shows current MotoGP champion Marc Marquez riding his championship-winning RC213V bike up the Kitzbühel Alps in Austria.
For the best traction, Marquez has his motorcycle tyres fitted with 3-cm spikes with some help from ice speedway legend, Franz Zorn.
Even with the thick snow and sloping surfaces, the Spaniard makes the whole stunt look easy and he finishes it off with a casual wheelie.
That said, Marquez wasn’t the first motorsports athlete to achieve such a feat. Max Verstappen did a run in his F1 car at the same spot last year.
