Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, Zontes marks its entry into the Malaysian market with the launch of four new models, namely the ZT310-T, ZT310-R, ZT310-X and ZT310-X GP. All four bikes are built on a common platform, making parts availability a non-issue.

Regardless of variant, the ZT-310 is powered by a 312-cc, DOHC single-cylinder engine that makes 34.8 hp at 9,500 rpm and 30 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The output is transferred to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission.

The company claims that all four models can reach a top speed of 160 km/h, with a fuel consumption of 3.2 liters per 100 km. There are two selectable riding modes: E for economy and S for sport.

As for the chassis, the ZT310 is equipped with upside-down forks as well as a cast aluminium swingarm with nitrogen-filled monoshock suspension at the rear. Dual-channel Bosch M9.1 ABS is standard across the range.

Other standard equipment include Keyless Control System, USB charging port, fully digital TFT display, LED lighting as well as electrically adjustable windscreen on the ZT310-T and ZT310-X.

So what are the differences between these four models? The ZT310-T is an adventure bike with distinguishing features such as a large motorized windscreen, handguards and crash protection bars. Priced at RM22,800, it comes with exclusive top box and panniers.

Meanwhile, the ZT310-R comes as a naked sports model with bold and aggressive styling. It is priced at RM19,800. The ZT310-X is the sport tourer of the 310 family, featuring full-fairing, passenger grab handle and an aerodynamic windscreen. It can be yours for a price of RM20,800 for the base model and RM21,600 for the GP which comes with sportier graphics.
