Hyundai’s revolutionary IONIQ 5 ASEAN Tour has successfully concluded its 11-day journey, spanning five vibrant countries in Asia. The tour, themed ‘Go Far with Zero Worries,’ showcased the electric vehicle’s reliability, eco-friendliness, and long-distance capabilities, dispelling doubts surrounding EVs in the Southeast Asia market. With a total journey of 3,197KM and remarkable cost efficiency, this tour has not only set a new standard for electric mobility but has also ignited a transformative era in the ASEAN region.
The IONIQ 5 ASEAN Tour kicked off with a flag-off ceremony in Singapore, featuring five vehicles, two manufactured in Indonesia and three in Singapore. The convoy traversed through Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia, concluding in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on November 30, 2023. The total journey exceeded initial calculations by 446KM, emphasizing the IONIQ 5’s capability to go the extra mile.

The media convoy in Malaysia showcased the sleek IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, while Bangkok, Thailand, witnessed the IONIQ 5’s revolutionary Vehicle to Load (V2L) technology transforming cars into power hubs for various experiences.
Influencers like Mr. Nithi Thuamprathom from Thailand and Fitra Eri from Indonesia shared their excitement and conviction in the future of electric vehicles. Nithi emphasized the IONIQ 5’s style, comfort, and reliability, while Fitra’s firsthand experience as the first proud owner of the IONIQ 5 in Indonesia shattered anxieties about long-distance drives and charging station accessibility.
