Weststar Maxus Showcases New EVs, Plans To Go Zero Emissions By 2050

Weststar Maxus EVs have hydrogen to solar power and everything in between

Weststar Maxus and its Managing Director, Tan Sri Dr. Syed Azman, recently had the honour of hosting the Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, YB Datuk Dr. Hj. Hazland bin Abang Hj. Hipni, for a productive discussion on Sarawak’s green energy transition roadmap and it looks promising.

From exploring innovative energy solutions, from hydro, solar power to biomass alternatives, to charting a course towards zero carbon emissions by 2050 as outlined in the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the Weststar Maxus collaboration signals a bold step towards a more sustainable future, which includes the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

Moreover, Weststar Maxus also showcased its range of brand new EVs to YB Datuk Dr. Hj. Hazland bin Abang Hj. Hipni, from the Maxus MIFA 9 MPV, T90 EV Pick Up Truck, and our eDeliver 3 Panel Van that may benefit the states sustainability goal. All these EVs will definitely help Malaysia reach its zero emissions goals.

Weststar Maxus is paving the way for a greener, cleaner Sarawak that future generations can be proud of and we couldn’t agree more. We hope that these EVs get commercial contracts and land in showrooms for the average Malaysian to enjoy personally very soon as well so Malaysia can also have a lower carbon footprint.

While it is no secret that the current layout of an EV is not exactly sustainable in the long term and some argue it actually does more harm to the environment than good, we should keep in mind that alternative fuel sources like hydro, solar power and the like (that Weststar Maxus is exploring) are a good solution too.

On top of that, One should not underestimate the difference a single decision can make. Instead of driving to work, for example, why not carpool? Or take a bus, or better yet, an e scooter? Things like this do add up over time and with enough time, even these small little decisions can make a big difference.

So what will you do, Malaysia? Will you follow in the footsteps of Weststar Maxus and make small changes today for a big difference tomorrow? Or will you sit idly by as change and evolution pass you? The choice is yours, and we should know better than anyone that the decisions we make today impact our children tomorrow.
