Stellantis May Bring In The Citroën ë-C3 To Malaysia, How Much Will It Cost?

With other brands already in full swing, Citroën may be the next Stellantis brand here

Stellantis has a bunch of brands under its belt and to be honest, it is hard to keep track of all of them. Despite this, it appears that Stellantis may just be considering bringing in another one of its brands to the Malaysian market and that is none other than French brand, Citroën, starting with its all electric ë-C3 hatchback.

Okay, so obviously, the biggest question one would have when reading this would be, “but Stellantis already has a fleet of Peugeot cars in Malaysia, why do they need to bring in another French brand? Wouldn’t that be cannibalising their own market?” Well, it’s not that simple because Citroën would be in a different market altogether, the electric hatchback market.

Moreover, the Citroën ë-C3 is a compact electric hatchback that blends practicality with a quirky, almost cutesy design, which many travelling within the city will appreciate as it is likely very easy to park. Launched to push Citroën’s electric mobility agenda, the ë-C3, if launched soon, may be the luxury hatchback electric vehicle (EV) that Malaysians never knew we wanted.

Under the hood, the Citroën ë-C3 sports a 44kWh battery paired to a 113hp electric motor, which makes it good for about 320km of range on a full charge. It also supports fast charging, going from 20 to 80 percent in about 26 minutes, making it a good choice for a quick grocery run but also effective on short trips.

On the inside, the Citroën ë-C3 embraces the brand’s signature philosophy of comfort with its Advanced Comfort seats, a minimalist dashboard and a practical and simple infotainment setup. It’s also one of the most affordable electric vehicles in Europe, targeting buyers looking for a clean, stylish, and budget-friendly EV.

On top of that, with the Perodua Myvi being the dominant hatchback on our roads in Malaysia, many have been asking if Perodua ever plans to electrify the king of Malaysian roads to give more eco-conscious buyers the option. While BYD already beat Perodua to the punch with the Dolphin, that car is still not as big as the Myvi and costs almost twice as much.

So if Stellantis can somehow overcome U.S President Trump’s tariffs as well as Malaysia’s own strict taxes on foreign vehicles and find a way to introduce the Citroën ë-C3 here at a price at least similar to the Myvi, even if it is a bit more, then perhaps Citroën may beat Perodua to the punch for real. What do you think?
