Chery iCaur 03 EV Launching Soon in Malaysia from RM145k

Malaysians will soon ask themselves if RM140K is too much for an iCaur 03 EV?

The Chery iCaur 03, a fully electric compact SUV, is launching in Malaysia in Q3 2025 under the all-new iCaur brand, a sub-brand of Chery. Previously previewed as the Jaecoo J6 at Malaysia Autoshow 2024, this EV will be offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants with prices estimated between RM145,000 and RM155,000.

iCaur 03 Key Features

Designed for both urban use and off-road adventures, the iCaur 03 is packed with modern EV features:

  • Powertrain: Pure electric with RWD and dual-motor AWD options
  • Battery Type: Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP)
  • Driving Range (CLTC):
    • 401 km (2WD Standard, 50.6 kWh battery) – 0–50 km/h in 4.5s
    • 472 km (4WD Long-Range) – 0–50 km/h in 3.0s
    • 501 km (2WD Long-Range) – 0–50 km/h in 4.7s
  • Charging: Fast charging from 30% to 80% in approx. 30 minutes
  • Smart Driving: DJI-developed autonomous driving system (optional on top variants)

Premium Build and Comfort

The iCaur 03 isn’t just about performance—it’s engineered for comfort and safety too:

  • All-aluminium body with die-cast longitudinal beam for improved rigidity
  • H-arm suspension for enhanced ride quality
  • Advanced damping software for refined handling
  • High bionic seats designed for ergonomic support

Dimensions

  • Length: 4406 mm
  • Width: 1910 mm
  • Height: 1715 mm

These dimensions put it squarely in the compact SUV segment, competing with the likes of the BYD Atto 3 —but with added off-road flair.

Should You Buy One?

The iCaur 03 brings high-end EV features, solid range, and rugged appeal to the Malaysian market—all at a competitive price. But will Malaysians warm up to a newly rebranded EV that once wore a different badge? With the right dealer network and after-sales support, the iCaur 03 could be a game-changer. Chery has already shown how ambitious it is in expanding in the Malaysian market.
