CIMB Names Amer Harris as Brand Partner to Empower Young Talent
CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has officially appointed rising Malaysian motorsport star Amer Harris Jefry as its latest brand partner. The move underscores the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting young talent in non-traditional sports through its “Kita Bagi Jadi” initiative.

The partnership was formalized at a signing ceremony attended by Minister of Youth and Sports YB Hannah Yeoh and CIMB Malaysia CEO Gurdip Singh Sidhu. Amer Harris joins an elite group of national athletes supported by CIMB, including cyclist Dato’ Azizulhasni Awang, squash player S. Sivasangari, and golfer Ervin Chang.

Minister Yeoh praised the collaboration, emphasizing how such public-private partnerships are crucial to pushing the national sports agenda forward. “Amer’s journey is an inspiring one—rising from humble beginnings to international recognition. His selection into the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool marks a historic achievement for Malaysia,” she said.
Amer’s racing resume is already impressive. Starting with go-karting at age eight, he has won three Asia Go Kart championships and claimed 18 race victories. His recent podium finish at the Shanghai International Circuit and participation in the Porsche Carrera Cup rounds in Japan and China have solidified his reputation as a rising force in Asian motorsports.

Gurdip Singh Sidhu highlighted that Amer embodies the qualities CIMB values—resilience, excellence, and progress. “We are proud to support talents like Amer who represent the next generation of Malaysian excellence. This partnership is aligned with our mission to empower youth in sports, arts, and education.”
Amer expressed gratitude for the partnership, noting it came at a pivotal point in his career. “I’m honoured to carry the Kita Bagi Jadi spirit forward. This support from CIMB strengthens my drive to excel in motorsports and make Malaysia proud.”

Amer’s next race in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will take place at Sepang International Circuit from 6 to 8 June 2025.
Through this partnership, CIMB continues its broader role in nation-building by creating meaningful opportunities for Malaysia’s emerging talents.
