Proton comes back to Singapore with VINCAR Group and the e.MAS 7 is the first car they’re bringing in.
The last time Proton was operating in Singapore, they were selling the Preve – a home-grown C-segment sedan that just didn’t meet sales expectations domestically or abroad. This week, Proton returns to our neighbouring island nation for the first time in over a decade with their all-electric e.MAS 7.

Singapore is one of the few remaining South East Asian export destinations that Proton can sell their e.MAS 7 in. This is because as the Geely Galaxy E5 – the e.MAS 7’s twin – was introduced to Thailand and Indonesia with very aggressive pricing.
In Singapore, Proton is partnering up with VINCAR Group to serve as its authorised distributor. The Proton e.MAS 7 will be previewed to Singaporeans at The Car Expo 2025 this weekend.

Singapore has a very receptive EV market, with a pretty good 18% of all new car sales in the country being all electric in 2023. By 2027, it’s projected that more than half of all cars sold there will be pure electric. They also plan to have all new cars sold by 2040 to run on ‘greener’ energy. There are plans to establish 12,000 EV charging points across 2,000 HDB car parks by the end of this year. So, yes, the environment there for selling EVs is much more welcoming.
In Singapore, the Proton e.MAS 7 will also be sold in the same Prime and Premium variants. They will be available in Turqoise Green, Slate Grey, Quartz Rose, Lithium White and Moyu Black. Moyu Black is not available in Malaysia. The Prime variant comes with a 49.52kWh battery while the Premium variant has a 60.22kWh battery, both using Geely’s Aegis Short Blade battery technology.

Both vehicles are powered by a 12-in-1 integrated motor with about 215 hp and 320Nm of torque. Driving range is 345km for the Prime and 410km for the Premium. Singapore’s circumference is roughly 200km, so there shouldn’t be many complaints about range anxiety as long as charger availability and affordability is well managed.
