The Alpine A390 Is What Happens When Performance Meets Electrification

Experience an all in one electric package with the 2026 Alpine A390

The Alpine A390 is a sport fastback that embodies the brand’s DNA with a new electric twist. Built with one clear goal, driving pleasure, it combines the agility of the Alpine A110 with the versatility of a five-seater. Presented at the 2024 Paris Motor Show as the A390_β, this model is the second vehicle in Alpine’s all-electric Dream Garage, following the A290 and preceding the future A110 EV.

The Alpine A390 features a cutting-edge tri-motor all-wheel-drive system (one front, two rear motors), delivering up to 470hp and 808Nm of torque in the GTS version. This setup enables Alpine’s unique Active Torque Vectoring, which enhances agility and control by precisely managing torque between the rear wheels.

Moreover, the GT version offers 400hp and accelerates to 100 km/h from standstill in just 4.8 seconds, while the GTS does it in just 3.9 seconds. Both versions are powered by an 89kWh battery developed in collaboration with French battery maker Verkor, offering a WLTP range of up to 555km. Fast charging capabilities allow 15 to 80 percent charge in under 25 minutes.

Built in France at Alpine’s Dieppe plant, the A390 reflects national pride with French-made components, including Michelin tyres and a Devialet sound system. Its aerodynamic design draws inspiration from endurance racing, featuring a 17° roof slope, a rear diffuser, and a subtle integrated spoiler.

At 4.615 meters long, it retains Alpine’s hallmark compact sportiness with a low center of gravity and precise chassis tuning. Inside, the A390 combines high-quality materials with technology. A 12.3-inch digital cluster and 12-inch infotainment screen serve the driver, while Nappa leather, custom lighting, and sport seats (Sabelt in GTS) elevate the experience.

On top of that, Formula 1-inspired controls adjust regenerative braking and engage launch modes. The interior blends comfort and precision, designed to deliver fun and feedback across all driving conditions. Two trims, GT and GTS, cater to different needs.

The GT offers luxury and efficiency, while the GTS prioritizes performance with enhanced audio, dynamic styling, and semi-autonomous driving features. Buyers will also enjoy bi-directional charging, a heat pump, and V2G capability in select regions.

The A390 marks Alpine’s bold entry into electric performance, staying true to its roots while pushing boundaries in EV design and dynamics. Do you think the ALpine A390 will be a hit here in Malaysia?
