Volvo EX90 Gets Abbey Road Studios Sound Mode in Malaysia Soon

Malaysian Volvo EX90 Owners to Receive Abbey Road Studios Audio Mode via OTA Update Soon

Volvo Cars has announced that its immersive new Abbey Road Studios Mode will soon be available to owners of the Volvo EX90. Rolling out in the coming weeks via a free over-the-air (OTA) software update, this groundbreaking sound technology is available exclusively for vehicles equipped with the optional Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity Audio System.

The announcement doesn’t name Malaysia outright, buta we’re one of the 85 countries where more recent Volvo cars receive OTA updates, so it’s quite likely that this update is around the corner for EX90 owners here.

Developed in partnership with Bowers & Wilkins and the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, the new sound mode captures the acoustics and sonic signature of one of the most iconic recording studios in music history. It’s designed to bring that same character into the EX90 cabin, delivering a truly immersive and highly customisable in-car audio experience.

Drivers can explore various presets optimised for different listening preferences. For more adventurous audiophiles, Producer Mode offers deep personalisation — from vintage-style tones to modern soundscapes, plus control over stereo width and acoustic depth.

Jeremy Huffelmann, General Manager of Abbey Road Studios, commented: “The Abbey Road Studios Mode brings the unique sound of our spaces and equipment to the Bowers & Wilkins system in the Volvo EX90 for the first time.”

The feature highlights Volvo Cars’ ambition to continuously enhance its software-defined vehicles through regular OTA updates. Future EX90 and ES90 models with the premium audio option will receive the mode pre-installed from the factory.

The Volvo EX90 already boasts one of Volvo’s quietest cabins to date, enhanced by a 1610-watt, 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system capable of playing Dolby Atmos content. With this update, it becomes an even more compelling choice for music lovers.
