Chery Malaysia Boosts National Sports with RM50,000 Contribution to KWASN

At the launch of the new TIGGO CROSS, Chery Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to Malaysian sports.

In a strong show of support for national athletes and grassroots sports, Chery Malaysia has announced a RM50,000 contribution to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN). The pledge was made during the launch of the all-new Chery TIGGO CROSS on 9 July and forms part of a broader initiative to promote athletic excellence and community development across the country.

Beyond the initial donation, Chery Malaysia confirmed that a portion of proceeds from every TIGGO CROSS sold in 2025 will be channeled to KWASN. This ensures ongoing financial support for sports initiatives, athletes, and training programmes throughout the year.

“At Chery, we believe performance goes beyond vehicles — it’s about empowering people.
Through this initiative, we aim to support more Malaysian athletes and local sports
organisations in reaching greater heights. This contribution marks our ongoing commitment to Malaysian sports and ensuring that homegrown talents continue to excel on the international stage,” said Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia.

KWASN, managed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Finance, plays a key role in funding athlete participation in international competitions and enhancing Malaysia’s presence on the global sporting stage.

Chery’s commitment to Malaysian sports isn’t new. In 2024, the company awarded vehicles to Malaysian medalists at the Paris Olympics, further establishing its support for athletic excellence.

The company’s involvement extends beyond elite athletes. Chery is actively supporting grassroots initiatives across football, badminton, cycling, running, and even pickleball — aiming to nurture healthy lifestyles and local talent from the ground up.

Each purchase now directly contributes to national sports development, creating a win-win scenario for both customers and athletes.
