Omoda C9 PHEV Previewed at Omoda Jaecoo Carnival 2025.
Omoda Malaysia gave fans a glimpse into its electrified future at the Omoda Jaecoo Carnival 2025, held from 21st to 24th August at Desa Park City. The event not only showcased the all-new Jaecoo J5 SUV, but also marked the first public preview of the Omoda C9 PHEV – the brand’s most powerful model to date.
The Omoda C9 PHEV is a luxury off-road SUV coupé that combines cutting-edge hybrid technology with premium comfort. It looks pretty much identical to the 2.0L petrol version that was launched last year. However, this time, under the hood is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with three electric motors, delivering up to 445 kW (605 PS) and 915 Nm of torque under optimal conditions. This immense output allows the C9 to sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, putting it on par with many high-performance SUVs.
Equipped with a 34.46 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, the C9 offers 150 km of pure electric driving range and an impressive total range of around 1,100 km. Charging flexibility is assured with support for 70 kW DC fast charging, 6.6 kW, and 2.8 kW AC charging options.
To ensure efficiency and responsiveness, the plug-in hybrid system is matched with a 3-Speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Fuel consumption is rated at just 1.7 litres/100 km (WLTC), making the C9 both powerful and efficient.
Ride quality is elevated by a Continuous Damping Control (CDC) active suspension system with sensors that adjust suspension up to 100 times per second.
Drivers can also choose between seven drive modes tailored for both urban and off-road adventures.
On the luxury front, the C9 PHEV features heated and ventilated front seats, as well as an Auxiliary Lighting System that accentuates its sleek silhouette.
With its striking design, advanced hybrid performance, and premium comfort features, the Omoda C9 PHEV stood out as a star of the Omoda Jaecoo Carnival 2025. The car is expected to be priced at around RM220,000.
