The Mazda CX-60 was official launched this month with more impressive features over its earlier sibling. Let us explain.
If you research the CX-60 you will find out that it was launched in Japan towards the end of 2022.
The CX-60 was the first of Mazda’s Large Product group models, offering significantly enhanced driving pleasure and environmental and safety performance, so why did it take more than 2 years to arrive in Malaysia?
Well, the first generation was deemed NOT GOOD ENOUGH for Malaysian buyers and so BERMAZ worked closely with Mazda Japan to get some changes done.
This latest version of the CX-60 got subtle technical updates is 2025 with the powertrain line-up remaining unchanged and a chassis set-up that continues to provide a refined driving experience.






Revisions include rear suspension set-up changes to enhance comfort and stability, an example being softer rear spring and firmer shock absorber settings that are aligned with recalibrated stability systems to improve overall handling and comfort balance in line with Mazda’s Jinba Ittai ethos.
In 2024, this Mazda CX-60 suspension was updated to provide better handling and so it now features a sophisticated double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, both designed to take advantage of its longitudinal powertrain layout.

A key element is the newly developed Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) system, which subtly applies braking to the inside rear wheel during cornering to suppress body roll, enhance stability, and provide a more planted and confidence-inspiring ride. This update addressed earlier market criticisms about the initial ride quality.
This Mazda CX-60 also features Mazda’s unique 8-speed automatic transmission, which uses a clutch and multi-plate system instead of a traditional torque converter, integrating an electric motor/generator for hybrid and electric-only driving.
This system allows for direct torque transmission and smooth, responsive shifts by combining the benefits of a torque converter and a manual transmission. The transmission is designed to be compact and efficient.






With a selling price of RM198,900, the CX-60 sits in a very competitive segment that has the Honda CR-V e:HEV at RM195,900 and the RM168,800 2WD OMODA C9 which is already a crowd favorite.
