The Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology is the follow up to the EQC SUV.
Mercedes-Benz is reigniting their electric product portfolio with what could be their most popular EV yet – the all-electric GLC with EQ Technology.

This is a completely new electric-first vehicle family, ditching some of the fundamentals of their EVA-derived EQ models, such as the EQA, EQB, EQE and EQS.

It was developed with extensive feedback from around the world. Compared to the standard GLC, this electric one has its wheelbase extended by 84mm and a 128L frunk to go with the 570L boot.

At least 5 variants of the new all-electric GLC are being planned. The first variant to be offered for sale is the GLC 400 4MATIC, which will come with an all-wheel drive dual-motor set up, a 2-speed gearbox at the rear. This model has a total system output of around 483 horsepower and a top speed of 210km/h. It has a WLTP range of 713km, thanks to a 94kWh lithium-ion battery with silicon oxide and graphite in the anode for reduced cobalt content. This battery has a screwed-on cover and a modular design, meaning better serviceability. The high-voltage system has an automatic shutdown, early warning systems and thermal event protection designed into it for safety.

Over long distances, it has a battery-to-wheel efficiency of 93%. 800V architecture enables 330kW DC fast charging, returning 303km of range in just 10 minutes. The vehicle features bi-directional charging and some value-added charging services with transparent pricing, but this is market dependent. Micro-LEDs in the digital lights reduce energy consumption from lighting by 50%.

In terms of driving dynamics, you get S-Class-derived technology with AIRMATIC air suspension. Other Mercedes-Benz vehicles automatically transmit road surface information to the network for your suspension to be primed ahead of time. Voice-controlled vehicle ride height is available for the first time. Rear-axle steering of up to 4.5 degrees is available. 5 drive modes are available: ECO, COMFORT, SPORT, INDIVIDUAL and TERRAIN.

Braking feel has been improved with a one-box brake system that delivers consistent brake feel whether the car is recovering energy or is using friction brakes. Up to 300kW of energy recuperation is available, which should be able to handle 99% of braking events.

MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System), an AI-driven “superbrain” capable of performing 254 trillion operations per second debuts to handle infotainment, driving, comfort and charging functions, while offering secure chip-to-cloud integration and over-the-air software updates. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft and Google Cloud, MB.OS uses a Multi-Agent Approach to select the best AI source in real time, whether from ChatGPT-4o, Bing, or Google Gemini. At its heart is the conversational MBUX Virtual Assistant, which supports natural, multi-turn conversations with memory and comes with three avatars. Integrated Google Maps intelligence also enhances navigation queries.

Inside, infotainment is delivered through the standard MBUX Superscreen, which combines a 10.3-inch driver display, a 14-inch central display and a 14-inch passenger display that can serve as digital décor or a functional interface. For an even more immersive experience, buyers can opt for the MBUX Hyperscreen, Mercedes’ largest display to date at 99.3 cm (39.1 inches), featuring matrix-backlight technology with over 1,000 LEDs, multi-zone dimming, Unity Game Engine-powered graphics, and a smartphone-like interface.

With more than 40 built-in apps, including Teams, Disney+ and other streaming platforms, the system ensures seamless digital engagement, while Mercedes pay+ with facial recognition enables secure in-car payments for ultimate convenience. A Burmester 4D surround sound system with Tactile Seat Exciters and Dolby Atmos support via Apple CarPlay is available.

Mercedes-Benz gives you the option for Nappa leather, Softtorino, microfibre fleece or a Vegan Package. The MB.DRIVE assistance system works off 10 cameras, 5 radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
