Zeekr 7X sales success in China and now Malaysia
The Zeekr 7X has been a sales success in its initial market of China, driven by aggressive pricing, fast-charging batteries, and premium features. Following its success, Zeekr has begun expanding sales of the 7X to other countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia.
Following its September 2024 launch, the Zeekr 7X generated impressive initial sales figures in China. The company received 6,000 orders within 24 hours and surpassed 20,000 deliveries within 50 days in China. Yes, in Malaysia the bookings is much less than China ….. at 390 units in 10 days, but this is Malaysia where EV adoption is still moving along past infancy.
By July 2025, the 7X had become Zeekr’s best-selling model in China, accounting for over 40% of its deliveries that month.
The SUV is positioned as a key competitor to the Tesla Model Y and other domestic rivals, offering competitive performance and features at a lower price point.
The 7X maintained strong monthly sales in China throughout the first half of 2025, regularly selling over 4,000 units.
Zeekr has capitalised on the 7X’s popularity by launching it in several international markets in mid-2025.
Launched in Malaysia on August 22, 2025, the 7X comes in three variants, starting at RM179,800. This launch directly targets competitors like the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7.
Australia: Details for the Australian market were revealed in August 2025, with customer deliveries starting in October.
Thailand: The 7X was launched in Thailand on August 15, 2025, with three variants offered.
Europe: Following its market entry in late 2024, deliveries in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway were planned for mid-2025.
In China and other international markets, the 7X is strategically priced to undercut rivals like the Tesla Model Y.
It features an 800V architecture and the “Golden Brick” LFP battery, which can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 10.5 minutes.
The 7X offers a luxurious and tech-forward experience, including a spacious interior, advanced ADAS capabilities, and a 16-inch Mini-LED center screen.
With ample storage and a family-friendly design, the 7X is positioned as a versatile electric SUV.
