PROTON has officially launched the Proton e.MAS 5—Malaysia’s first affordable electric vehicle—with prices starting from RM59,800, marking a historic milestone in making sustainable mobility accessible to every Malaysian driver.
The grand launch at Sentul Depot follows its first public showcase at the ASEAN Summit on October 28, attended by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Premier Li Qiang of China. This event reinforces PRO-NET’s leadership in Malaysia’s EV sector, building on the Proton e.MAS 7’s success as Malaysia’s top EV for nine consecutive months.
With over 5,000 bookings within three weeks, the Proton e.MAS 5’s popularity is evident. Designed for first-time EV buyers, it focuses on affordability, practicality, and everyday usability.

Prime Variant: RM59,800 (Peninsular Malaysia, OTR without insurance)

These prices are reduced by RM3,000 for those who purchase the vehicle in 2025. The e.MAS 5 combines B-segment exterior agility with C-segment interior spaciousness, offering a WLTP range of up to 325 km.
