The Proton e.MAS 5 has captured unprecedented public interest by recording 1,607 bookings within just 24 hours.
Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PROTON, announced the phenomenal response to its new compact EV on October 8, 2025. The overwhelming public interest follows a first-of-its-kind livestream event held at Proton e.MAS Nilai to announce that the books were open.
The digital announcement drew around 572,000 live viewers and has since surpassed 1 million total views post-launch across various platforms, including eight TikTok pages and one Facebook page.
Affordable EV Ownership for the Rakyat
The Proton e.MAS 5 is designed to make electric mobility a reality for everyone. With an estimated starting price between RM60,000 and RM80,000, it firmly stands as Malaysia’s most affordable EV, built “for the Rakyat”.
