Proton e.MAS 7 Is Now On Sale In Mauritius For RS 1,850,000

Proton International Corporation Sdn Bhd (PICSB) has officially launched the PROTON e.MAS 7 in Mauritius. This marks a significant milestone, as the island nation becomes the fourth international market to receive PROTON’s first EV, arriving ten months after its debut in Malaysia and following the company’s return to Singapore on 18 September with the same model.

Today, the e.MAS 7 is already PROTON’s third most popular export model, behind the Proton Saga and Proton X50.

Held in Port Louis, the launch event was officiated by Edmund Lim Meng Thong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton International Corporation Sdn Bhd (PICSB) and witnessed by Osman Mahomed, Minister of Transportation for the Republic of Mauritius as well as Ally Dusmohamud, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Mauritius, representing the Autonexx Group.

The occasion also marked the delivery of units to the first ten customers in Mauritius, underscoring the strong demand for the e.MAS 7 even before its official debut.

Strengthening and accelerating PROTON’s global footprint

The launch of the e.MAS 7 in Mauritius marks another pivotal step in PROTON’s international growth and its ambition to lead the adoption of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). The introduction of the model to new markets underscores PROTON’s evolving role as a regional EV player, supported by strong demand and a growing customer base. Since its debut, over 6,500 units have been delivered domestically and internationally, reflecting the model’s broad appeal.

This expansion is reinforced by PROTON’s strategic investment in electrification, with production taking place at the company’s new EV plant in Malaysia. The facility, capable of producing up to 45,000 EVs annually, is central to PROTON’s plan to achieve 250,000 export units in the coming years while driving sustainable mobility on a global scale.

With over 35 years of experience in the Mauritian automotive industry, Autonexx has been a trusted partner in strengthening PROTON’s brand presence and customer confidence on the island. The introduction of the e.MAS 7 marks another milestone in this enduring partnership, aligning with both companies’ shared vision to advance electric mobility in Mauritius.

A Feature-Packed Electric SUV with 5-Star Safety, Strong Performance, and Long Range

The Proton e.MAS 7, offered in Prime and Premium specifications in Mauritius, boasts a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating and a rapid 0–100 km/h acceleration of just 7.1 seconds. Its 12-in-1 electric drive unit produces 160 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque.

Powered by advanced AEGIS Short Blade battery cells, its 60.22 kWh battery offers a WLTP-rated range of 410 km, making it an ideal fit for the customer usage profile in Mauritius. Backed by a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 km high voltage battery and components warranty, PROTON aims to make the shift to electric mobility easy and reassuring for every customer.

To celebrate its arrival, PROTON Mauritius is introducing an exclusive early-bird promotion for the first 30 customers. The e.MAS 7 Prime is priced at Rs 1,690,000 on the road (excluding insurance) and includes a free wallbox charger and free e.motion card.
