Suzuki Fronx is a new-generation, compact crossover SUV confirmed for launch in Malaysia in Q4 2025 by Naza Eastern Motors.
It features a bold design for the brand and a 1.5L mild-hybrid engine for fuel efficiency. Its cabin comes with advanced tech like a 9-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will compete in the B-segment SUV market against rivals like the Perodua Ativa, Proton X50, Chery Tiggo Cross and the Honda WR-V.

So, what does ‘Fronx’ name mean? Well, it is a combination of “Frontier” and “Crossover,” reflecting the vehicle’s positioning as a new genre of compact SUV that blends a bold, sophisticated design with a focus on pioneering the next stage of crossover vehicles for a young audience.
The Fronx has a sporty, adventurous look with thin LED daytime running lights, a split-headlight design, and a full-width rear taillight.
There are 3 powertrains available for this Suzuki in the global market.

There is an economical 1.0L Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine. In some regions (NOT for South East Asia), this three-cylinder turbocharged engine is available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It delivers 99 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque.
There is also a 1.2L Dual Jet petrol engine. This powertrain option, paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox, produces around 88 bhp and 113 Nm of torque (also not for the SEA region).

Then there is the 1.5L mild-hybrid system. Now this setup pairs a 1.5L Dual Jet engine with a 12V mild-hybrid system for improved fuel efficiency.It is equipped with a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid engine, which includes an integrated starter generator (ISG) and a 12V lithium-ion battery to enhance fuel efficiency.
We in Malaysia will be getting the 3rd variant mentioned above which is 1.5L mild-hybrid system.
Inside, the Fronx boasts a nine-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display (HUD), and wireless charging capabilities.

Depending on the variant, advanced safety features may include a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and a blind-spot monitor.
The Fronx is positioned as Suzuki’s first mainstream B-segment SUV in Malaysia, aiming to offer a market-friendly alternative to its niche offerings like the Jimny and Swift Sport.
It will enter the competitive B-segment SUV market, going head-to-head with local and international models such as the Toyota Corolla Cross and Honda HR-V.
