Bosch Car Service Launches Philippines’ First Independent EV Workshop in Landmark ACMobility Partnership

Bosch has opened its first NEV workshop concept in ASEAN, located in the Philippines.

The global market for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) —encompassing both electric and hybrid models—is undergoing a rapid transformation. With more automotive brands flooding the market with sustainable mobility options, a critical need has emerged for robust specialised after-sales services, including care, repair, and maintenance for these complex systems.

Bosch Car Service Philippines has officially launched its first Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Workshop Concept, established in partnership with ACMobility. This pioneering facility signals a major step forward for the region’s e-mobility infrastructure.

Philippines: A New Era for Independent NEV Servicing

The new NEV workshop concept is integrated into Bosch’s existing service facility in Bacoor, Cavite, leveraging nearly a century of automotive expertise in the country. This strategic launch achieves a significant milestone:

  • First Independent Facility: It is the Philippines’ first independent aftermarket (IAM) workshop to be officially authorized and equipped to service both electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
  • Comprehensive Service: The facility offers bumper-to-bumper solutions for NEV owners, ensuring they have trustworthy and accessible care outside of official dealer networks.
  • Future Expansion: Bosch Car Service Philippines aims to build a stronger after-sales ecosystem, with plans to establish more Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Workshop Concepts nationwide as part of its goal to expand its network to between 85 and 100 centres by 2030.

What Specialized Services Does the NEV Workshop Offer?

Servicing NEVs requires different tools, skill sets, and safety protocols than traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The new workshop is equipped to handle the unique demands of electric powertrains with the following services:

  • High-Voltage (HV) Battery Work: Specialized diagnostics, repair, and conditioning for high-voltage battery packs.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Mechanical and electrical fault detection using state-of-the-art NEV diagnostic machines.
  • Software Updates: Essential computer software updates for modern NEV systems.
  • Warranty Servicing: The facility is accredited to perform warranty servicing for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, such as VinFast Philippines.
  • Technician Expertise: All technicians undergo rigorous global certification, including specialized training in high-voltage safety and EV/HEV systems, ensuring safe and expert handling of electrical components.

Will Malaysia Get a Bosch NEV Workshop?

The possibility of Malaysia receiving a similar dedicated NEV workshop concept is directly tied to Bosch’s stated strategy. Bosch has clarified that the inclusion of the dedicated NEV servicing feature within a Bosch Car Service centre depends on the local market demand for electric and hybrid vehicles in that specific area.
