The original off-roader brand has come up with its answer to the many Chinese off-roaders with the Jeep Recon.
We’ve seen countless Chinese brands attempt to take on the all-electric off-roader genre and now we’re finally getting an answer from the original off-roader – Jeep. The Jeep Recon will be the first and only, fully electric, Trail Rated SUV in the industry, blending the legendary Jeep 4×4 capability with a powerful, electrified powertrain. It’s doubtful that Stellantis Malaysia will assemble it here for favourable pricing, but one can always hope.
Power, Performance, and Electric Range
The Jeep Recon delivers commanding performance with 650 hp and 840Nm of instant torque. This robust output allows the electric SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in as little as 3.6 seconds. Powering this performance is a 100-kilowatt-hour, 400-volt battery pack, which helps the Recon achieve an estimated all-electric driving range of up to 400km. The standard all-electric four-wheel drive (4×4) system provides confident traction across all terrain.
Unmatched Off-Road Capability
True to the Jeep brand’s core values, the Recon is built for the trail. Key features that solidify its Trail Rated status include:
- Selec-Terrain Traction Management System: Offers multiple drive modes, including an exclusive Rock mode on the Moab trim.
- Electronic Locking Differential: Ensures torque flows to both rear wheels when engaged for maximum grip.
- Selec-Speed Control: Low-speed functionality to help manage challenging inclines and declines.
- Underbody Protection: High-strength steel shields protect the vital battery pack.
- Moab Trim Specifications: This rugged trim features standard 33-inch tires and 9.1 inches of ground clearance.
- Optimized Angles: Designed for superior trail performance with a 33.8-degree approach angle, 33.1-degree departure angle, and 23.3-degree breakover angle.
Iconic Open-Air Design and Utility
The 2026 Jeep Recon upholds the brand’s tradition of open-air freedom. It is the only fully electric vehicle designed with removable doors, rear quarter glass, and swing gate glass that require no tools to remove.
Exterior highlights include an upright front face with an illuminated seven-slot grille and premium LED lighting.

The Jeep Recon’s cabin is equipped with advanced technology for an immersive driving experience. The interior features over 26 inches of high-definition screen space, anchored by:

The 2026 Jeep Recon will have a starting MSRP of USD65,000 or RM270,000. Production is scheduled to begin early next year, with the initial launch targeting the U.S. and Canada before a global expansion.
