BYD Stock Clearance Pricing In Thailand As Subsidies Set To Expire

BYD models in Thailand receive a massive year end discount as subsidies are due to reduce in 2026.

South East Asia has been very conducive to EVs in the last 2-3 years with many countries giving full exceptions or subsidies to fully-imported vehicles. For Malaysia and for Thailand, things are changing in 2026. Our neighbours to the North will see the reduction of the government’s EV 3.0 subsidy program and 2026 will see prices rise significantly.

To prevent oversupply, RAVE Automotive, the official distributor for BYD and Denza in Thailand, has slashed prices to clear their stock before the subsidies reduce drastically. BYD Thailand is no stranger to discounts.

The End of the THB 150,000 Subsidy

The transition from the government’s EV 3.0 program to the EV 3.5 scheme marks a major shift in the local automotive landscape. Under EV 3.0, popular models like the BYD Dolphin and Atto 3 were eligible for a maximum subsidy of THB 150,000. From 2026, these locally produced models will see their support slashed to a maximum of THB 50,000.

Furthermore, imported models—including the Seal, M6, Sealion 7, and the luxury Denza D9—will face a double impact: the complete loss of the current THB 75,000 subsidy and a sharp increase in excise tax rates, which will jump from 2% to 10%.

Projected 2026 Pricing vs. 2025 Year-End Deals

As production costs and tax structures shift, RAVE Automotive has released projected pricing for 2026. To maintain sales momentum before the deadline, special promotional prices are available until December 31, 2025.

Exclusive Year-End Benefits: Lifetime Battery Warranty

Beyond the immediate price savings, BYD and Denza are offering a highly sought-after Lifetime Battery Warranty package until the end of the year.

For a special fee of just THB 5,000 for BYD models (valued at THB 50,000) and THB 10,000 for Denza models (valued at THB 100,000), owners can secure coverage for the high-voltage battery, drive motor, and Power Distribution Unit (PDC). This package is designed to provide long-term peace of mind, provided owners adhere to specific conditions, such as a mileage limit of 50,000 km per year and maintaining regular service intervals at authorized centers.

Market Outlook for 2026

The anticipated price war in the Thai EV sector is expected to ease as the industry enters what experts call the “Elimination Round” between 2025 and 2027. With local production requirements under the EV 3.5 scheme becoming more stringent—requiring a 1:2 or 1:3 production offset for imported units—manufacturers are under pressure to stabilize pricing while managing higher localized costs.

For Thai consumers, the current December 2025 window represents the most affordable entry point into the BYD ecosystem before the scheduled tax and subsidy adjustments take full effect in the new year.
