A fatal tragic accident along the highway
A fatal accident was reported to have occurred last weekend early morning, December 13, 2025, on the PLUS Highway, at the highway entry before leaving the Nilai toll road heading North.

According to initial information, this Mercedes Benz (W210 model) is believed to have skidded before causing a serious accident. The driver of the vehicle, a man, was confirmed dead at the scene.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation by the authorities.
While German manufacturers are known for pioneering safety innovations and German roads (like the Autobahn) have safety features and strict driving education standards, these factors do not eliminate the possibility of an accident.
Some points to consider:
The single biggest cause of fatal accidents in Malaysia is excessive speed (where permitted), a form of driver error. Human factors play a primary role in most accidents, regardless of the car’s origin.
On high-speed wet roads like our PLUS highway or any other highway, accidents, when they do occur, are often more severe due to the kinetic energy involved.
German cars are generally considered very safe and are engineered for high-speed stability and crash protection (e.g., crumple zones, advanced airbags). However, no car is completely accident-proof, and the laws of physics still apply in a collision.
Did you know this:
Malaysia recorded a high number of road accidents in 2024, with reports mentioning over 532,000 accidents from January to October and an annual figure of around 266,716 total accidents, with private cars (Myvi, Saga) and motorcycles (Yamaha) most frequently involved. These incidents led to thousands of fatalities, with motorcyclists making up a significant portion (68%) of deaths, averaging around 1,729 accidents and 14 deaths daily across the year.
