Hyundai Motor Malaysia Signals Aggressive Expansion with Strategic Dealer Partnerships

Hyundai Motor expands in Malaysia with 4 new dealer partners.

Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has officially entered into a new phase of growth by signing Letters of Intent (LOIs) with four strategic dealer partners. This move marks a key milestone in the company’s long-term expansion strategy, reinforcing its commitment to the Malaysian market through a robust, future-ready retail network.

The four newly appointed partners are:

  • BHS Auto Hyundai Sdn Bhd
  • Palm Auto Sdn Bhd
  • Anggerik Motor (Senai) Sdn Bhd
  • Heng Lian Enterprise Bhd

Strategic Network Expansion

The LOIs cover six new outlets strategically identified based on high market demand and growth potential. These outlets will be located across key high-potential cities, including Ipoh, Petaling Jaya, Senai, and Kuching.

This expansion is part of a deliberate, quality-driven approach designed to build stronger, higher-capacity dealerships. By strengthening its presence in these “right locations,” HMY aims to ensure consistent service standards and sustained customer confidence nationwide.

Tailoring Global Strategy to Local Needs

Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, Ms. Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, emphasized that these partnerships are central to a strategic plan for sustainable growth. “By strengthening our dealership network through the right partners… we are establishing a strong platform to serve customers more effectively nationwide,” she stated.

The move reflects Hyundai’s regional roadmap, which focuses on tailoring global mobility strategies to meet local market dynamics. This commitment is further supported by HMY’s recent RM2.16 billion investment into local assembly (CKD) operations in Kulim, Kedah, which aims to produce up to seven new models within the next five years.

Beyond the Showroom: Future Mobility

Hyundai’s expansion in Malaysia aligns with its global vision, ‘Progress for Humanity’. Beyond traditional vehicles, the company continues to invest in advanced technologies, including:

  • Robotics
  • Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)
  • Zero-emission vehicles powered by industry-leading hydrogen fuel cell and EV technologies

With the introduction of the direct, principal-led model in mid-2025, Hyundai is poised to significantly deepen its market reach in Malaysia while delivering a more connected and premium ownership experience.
