Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance Is The 1st High Output EV From Japan

The Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance takes Japan into electric performance territory.

The Lexus RZ has hardly been a success story in Malaysia, but that doesn’t mean the Japanese premium marque is done developing it to its full potential. Just over Christmas, Lexus released launch details on the high-performance version of the vehicle. With its higher output level, it’s called the Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance where previous mass market iterations were known as the RZ 300e or RZ 450e.

The Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance will be available for sale in Japan on the 2nd of March 2026 with no indications of a global launch. The electric motors are now tuned to output 425.5PS and this was done by pushing the battery’s output limits a little further than before. This higher output enables it to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

To cope with the added output, Lexus has done some other performance-related modifications including lowering the overall height by 20mm and equipping the vehicle with 20″ brake rotors. The 21″ wheels feature a staggered tyre set up with 255/40R21 in the front and wider 295/35R21 at the rear. The Lexus RZ is equipped with Steer-by-Wire with an ‘Interactive Manual Drive’ which is said to enhanced the electric driving experience in high-performance scenarios.

In terms of looks, the new Lexus RZ600e F Sport Performance is available in two dual-tone colour schemes – Black and HAKUGIN II is the first option and this is finished in matte clear. There’s also Black and Neutrino Gray. The vehicle features unique blue accents to contrast against the black body. Inside, the front seats feature an integrated foam molding process that improves on body support during high-speed drives.

Besides that, the RZ600e F Sport Performance features the following changes:

  • Special Edition 21-inch aluminum wheels (ENKEI, matte black finish)
  • Special Edition front opposed six piston aluminum monoblock blue brake calipers (Lexus logo)
  • Special Edition large arch moldings
  • Special Edition carbon hood bulge
  • Special Edition carbon spoiler (front lower, front side and rear lower)
  • Special Edition carbon headlamp bezels
  • Special Edition carbon roof
  • Special Edition carbon wing (roof and rear)
  • Special Edition carbon turning vanes (front and rear)
  • Special Edition lower door moldings

Interior

  • “F SPORT Performance” Ultrasuede® sport seats (Special Edition black with blue stitching, with driver seat position memory and front seat ventilation)
  • Dial type shift selector (Special Edition black with blue accent)
  • Instrument panel (Special Edition blue accent)
  • Front cup holders (Special Edition black hazel)
  • Door trim (Ultrasuede®)

Even with the increased performance, the Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance returns about 525km on a full charge. However, because it is configured specifically for the Japanese market for now, the 76.96kWh battery is only chargable via a CHAdeMO interface.
