Husband dies, wife in severe condition as their high power motorcycle rams into X-Trail SUV
Jerantut, Pahang: The staff of Jerantut Hospital has passed away, while his wife died after a high powered motorcycle ridden by a couple was involved in a deadly accident where the motorcycle hit a Nissan X-Trail sports utility vehicle (SUV) at the Kilometer 13, Jalan Jerantut – Temerloh, near Kampung Tebing Tinggi stretch of road.
Jerantut District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Azahari Muhktar, said the tragedy happened at 6.25 pm Saturday evening when the motorcycle struck into the Nissan X-Trail SUV which was driven by a 73-year-old man, who made a sudden U-turn on a straight road (he was not supposed to do that).
According to him, during the incident two vehicles got involved on the way from Jerantut to Temerloh.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the Nissan X-Trail SUV made a sudden U-turn and caused the motorcycle to hit the vehicle in question.”

“Based on a preliminary investigation, it happened because the SUV driver’s negligence made a U-turn in an unauthorized place,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Azahari said, as a result of the accident motorcyclist Noor Aizat Abu Bakar, 44, died on the scene and his wife, Noorhashimah Ramlee, 44, is now in critical condition and is being treated at Jerantut Hospital.
According to Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Azahari Muhktar, Noor Aizat is an employee of Jerantut Hospital and the couple is from Taman Gemilang Emas. He added that the driver of the Nissan X-Trail did not suffer any injuries.
The case is being investigated according to Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless driving and causing fatal accidents.
