BMW Group Malaysia sold over 2700 EVs across its 3 brands in this market.
BMW Group Malaysia has solidified its position as the nation’s leading provider of premium electrified mobility, concluding 2025 with record-breaking delivery figures and a clear lead in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Market Performance: Dominating the Premium Segment
BMW Group Malaysia successfully retained its title as the Number One Premium Electric Vehicle Provider for the sixth consecutive year, delivering over 2,700 fully electric BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad vehicles in 2025.

Electrified models accounted for 25.2% of all deliveries for the year, representing a significant jump from 20.6% in 2024. This growth was spearheaded by several key models:
- BMW iX2 xDrive30 M Sport: Remained the brand’s best-selling fully electric vehicle with over 460 units delivered.
- BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport: Followed closely with over 450 units, representing a 10.8% increase compared to 2024.
- BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport: Demonstrated remarkable appeal with over 340 units delivered, marking a significant 41.1% growth year-on-year.
- MINI Aceman SE: Led the electric segment for MINI with over 330 units delivered, contributing to the brand’s overall 15.2% growth in electric vehicle sales.
- BMW Motorrad Adventure Segment: Experienced a 30.6% growth, led by the acclaimed BMW R 1300 GS Adventure.

This success is rooted in BMW’s “Power of Choice” philosophy, which empowers customers to choose between petrol and electric options within the same high-performance models.
Sustainability & Innovation: Beyond the Vehicle
BMW’s leadership extends into a circular economy through pioneering sustainability initiatives:
- Second-Life Battery Applications: A strategic partnership with Universiti Malaya (UM) focuses on repurposing used EV batteries for rural electrification and community energy storage solutions.
- Circular Economy Practices: Under its RE:THINK and RE:GENERATE programmes, BMW focuses on reducing waste and maximizing resource efficiency across its entire value chain.
- Industry-Academia Collaboration: By supplying batteries to UM’s Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC), BMW is bridging the gap between premium automotive technology and local research to solve real-world energy challenges.
