The BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport gives Malaysians the choice of more legroom at the rear.
BMW Group Malaysia has expanded its electrified portfolio with the introduction of the All-New BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport.
This new variant introduces a long-wheelbase format to the popular compact electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment, offering enhanced space and comfort without compromising the brand’s signature driving dynamics.
Dynamic Proportions and Extended Comfort
The defining characteristic of the iX1 eDrive20L M Sport is its significantly increased dimensions over the standard iX1. By extending the wheelbase by 110 mm and the overall length by 116 mm, BMW has unlocked substantial interior roominess. Rear passengers benefit directly from this growth, enjoying an additional 81 mm of legroom and 107 mm of kneeroom, making it a standout for comfort in the compact class.
Inside, the cabin features a driver-centric BMW Curved Display and is equipped with the latest BMW Operating System 9. A major highlight is the introduction of a Panoramic Skyroof with no central bar, providing an unobstructed view and an airy atmosphere, complemented by an electric opaque fabric shade for privacy.
Performance and Urban Versatility
The iX1 eDrive20L M Sport is powered by a front-axle electric motor delivering 150 kW (204 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. It achieves a 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 175 km/h. For urban and long-distance versatility, the high-voltage 66.5 kWh battery provides a range of up to 433 km (WLTP). Charging is efficient, with DC fast charging (up to 130 kW) capable of taking the battery from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes.
Comparison: Long-Wheelbase vs. Standard iX1
Compared to the standard BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport launched previously, the new “L” variant is primarily focused on maximizing interior versatility and passenger ease. While both models utilize the same efficient fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology and deliver identical power outputs, the long-wheelbase variant trades a small amount of range (433 km vs. the standard’s 475 km) for its significantly larger rear cabin space and the addition of the bar-less Panoramic Skyroof.
