Kia Sold More Vehilces In The USA Than It Ever Has

Kia America breached 850,000 cars sold for the first time.

Kia America has closed the books on a historic 2025, shattering previous benchmarks to post a total of 852,155 units sold. This achievement marks the first time in company history that sales have surpassed the 800,000 mark, representing a 7% increase over 2024 and the brand’s third consecutive year of setting a new all-time annual sales record.

The record-breaking performance was not just driven by fleet sales; retail sales through dealers grew by 5% year-over-year, continuing an eight-year growth streak and securing Kia’s highest-ever market share in the United States.

The surge in volume was powered by four key models achieving their best-ever annual sales totals.

  • Kia Sportage (+13%): The undisputed king of the lineup, the Sportage SUV delivered the all-time best annual performance by any Kia model in history.
  • Kia Carnival (+44%): Saw the most explosive growth, cementing its status as a top contender in the MPV segment.
  • Kia Telluride (+7%): Continued its dominance in the large SUV market.
  • Kia K4 (+1%): The compact sedan maintained steady growth.

Electrification and Sedans on the Rise

Kia’s “world-class model lineup” saw growth across all body styles and powertrains.

  • Electrified Models: Sales of EVs and hybrids surged by 24%, setting a new annual record.
  • SUVs: The brand’s bread-and-butter segment grew by 5%.
  • Sedans: Defying market trends, Kia’s sedan sales increased by 13% year-over-year.

“Our third consecutive all-time annual sales record, coupled with our highest-ever U.S. market share, are clear indicators of the strength of the Kia brand and the competitiveness of our models,” said Sean Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America.

Momentum is expected to continue into Q1 2026 with the arrival of two major products:`

  1. The Second-Generation Telluride: Already named one of Newsweek Magazine’s “2026 Most Anticipated New Vehicles.”
  2. The K4 Hatchback: A highly anticipated addition to the compact segment.

Ending the year on a high note for safety, the 2026 Kia Sorento (built after September 2025) was awarded the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest honour, the TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) designation. This brings the total number of Kia vehicles earning a TSP+ rating in 2025 to five.
