Why did this Mercedes-Benz E-Class catch fire last night in the public car park area in front of Seventeen Mall?
The public and us at www.dsf.my would like to know what was the cause of this fire and a BOMBA report at the soonest would be appreciated.

This is now getting a common issue in our cities, car fires and there is no clear explanation why as the cars catching fire are sitting in garages and public car parks. NOT in an accident!
By the way, this is NOT an electric car!
Car Fire Causes & Contributing Factors:
Electrical Issues: Faulty wiring, short circuits, or aging batteries in any vehicle.
Fuel System Leaks: Leaking fuel lines or injectors.
Mechanical Failures: Overheating engines or components.
What to Do If You See a Car Fire:
Move Away Immediately: Get yourself and others to safety; a car fire can be explosive.
Call Emergency Services (Fire Brigade/Bomba): Provide precise location details.
Stay Away: Do not attempt to extinguish the fire yourself with a small extinguisher; call professionals.
Common Causes Of Car Fires:
Fuel Leaks: Damaged fuel lines, injectors, or seals can drip highly flammable petrol onto hot exhaust or engine components, igniting it.
Electrical Failures: Worn, frayed, or damaged wiring, loose connections, or aftermarket accessories can short circuit, creating a spark that ignites nearby fluids or insulation.
Engine Overheating: A faulty cooling system (fan, water pump, radiator) can cause extreme heat, potentially leading to oil leaks or igniting other flammable materials, even after parking.
Oil Leaks: Leaking engine oil onto hot exhaust parts is a significant fire risk, especially with poor maintenance.
Hot Components: A catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, or other hot engine parts can ignite spilled fluids or nearby grass/debris.
Rodent Damage: Animals chewing on soy-based wire insulation can cause electrical shorts or expose fuel lines, creating fire hazards.
Aftermarket Modifications: Improperly installed electronics (stereos, dashcams) can create electrical faults.
