Volvo EX60 Teased, Promises 810KM WLTP Range & 400W Fast Charging

Volvo EX60 is about to be revealed and it looks like it’s going to be their best EV yet.

Range anxiety might officially be a thing of the past. Volvo Car Malaysia has released the first details of its upcoming all-electric SUV, the Volvo EX60, and the numbers are staggering.

Scheduled for a global reveal on 21 January 2026, the EX60 promises a best-in-class range of up to 810 km on a single charge and charging speeds that rival a quick fuel stop.

Volvo is positioning the EX60 as a gamechanger designed to eliminate the main worries customers have about switching to electric. Built on SPA3, Volvo’s most advanced electric car architecture to date, the SUV achieves its massive range through a combination of cutting-edge tech.

This includes:

  • 800-Volt Electrical System: Allows for ultra-fast energy transfer.
  • Cell-to-Body Technology: Integrates the battery directly into the vehicle structure to reduce weight and improve efficiency.
  • Mega Casting: Replaces hundreds of small parts with a single high-precision casting, further cutting weight.

To put the 810 km range into perspective, Volvo Car Malaysia notes that the EX60 can easily handle a drive from Johor to Perlis, Kuala Lumpur to Penang, or travel across Sabah to Sarawak on a single charge.

This impressive figure applies to the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration, suggesting that efficiency hasn’t been sacrificed for performance.

Charging as Fast as a Coffee Break

Perhaps even more impressive than the range is the charging speed. Thanks to the new 800V architecture, the EX60 can add up to 340 km of range in just 10 minutes when using a 400 kW fast charger.

The vehicle also features smart charging algorithms developed by Breathe Battery Technologies, which constantly adjust power intake to keep the battery in its ideal operating zone regardless of the weather.

10-Year Battery Warranty

In a move to further solidify buyer confidence, Volvo has confirmed that all EX60 customers will receive a 10-year warranty on the battery.
