A Bentley Continental premium car was confiscated in a special operation known as Special Ops Luxury conducted in Jalan Tun Razak, on February 8 (last week).
The woman driver, who also did not have a valid driving licence, claimed that her family used to handle renewal of the car’s road tax and insurance.
According to the statement from the Department of Road Transport of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (JPJ WPKL), the action was taken after inspection found some serious errors under the Road Transport Act 1987 (APJ 1987).

Among the mistakes that were detected:
1. No Competent Driver’s License (CDL)
2. Motor Vehicle License (LKM) expired (which can be up to RM15,630 a year if this is a V12 version with a 6.0L engine)
3. No insurance coverage (this will be based on the current vehicle value which is probably under RM100k due to its age)
Following that, the Bentley has been confiscated and taken to the JPJ WPKL depot for further action.
JPJ WPKL in a similar statement asserted that its party has always paid serious attention to compliance with road laws, including involving luxury vehicles, and will never compromise on any party that breaks the rules.
“Monitoring and enforcement operations will continue from time to time to ensure that all vehicles are in legal condition and in compliance with prescribed rules,” the statement said.
