Dongfeng Motor Corporation is expanding its Malaysian presence with the debut of the Dongfeng VIGO, a lifestyle-focused electric SUV engineered for modern family needs and active weekend escapes. Making its entrance alongside the 007 sedan, the VIGO is designed to bridge the gap between daily city commutes and adventurous outdoor activities.
Innovative Design and Versatile Space
The standout feature of the Dongfeng VIGO is its innovative “Heaven and Earth Gate” split tailgate. Capable of supporting up to 150 kg, this multifunctional design transforms the rear into a practical platform for camping, tailgating, or outdoor gatherings. Despite its compact SUV footprint, the VIGO delivers exceptional roominess with a 500-litre boot and a class-leading usable space ratio facilitated by its 2,715 mm wheelbase.
Intelligent Smart Cockpit
The interior is anchored by a high-performance Smart Cockpit, featuring a 12.8-inch HD touchscreen display with seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The cabin is highly adaptive, offering intelligent scene modes such as “Rest,” “Camping,” and “Music Speaker” to intuitively tailor the environment to different journey types. For added convenience, the VIGO includes 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing the car to power external appliances during outdoor excursions.
Performance and Refined Comfort
Engineered for the tropical Malaysian climate, the VIGO utilizes an intelligent thermal management system and boasts 37 layers of sound insulation for a quiet, refined drive. In terms of charging efficiency, the SUV supports DC fast charging of up to 167 kW, enabling an 80% charge in approximately 9 minutes. Driving confidence is further bolstered by Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a 540° panoramic camera with a transparent chassis view.
Ownership and Ambassador Search
To support its entry, Dongfeng is offering an extended ownership package that includes a free ABB wall box, a six-year vehicle warranty, and an eight-year powertrain warranty, both with unlimited mileage. The Dongfeng VIGO is expected to be priced from RM100,000 following a special launch discount.
