Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Marks Milestone with Local Production of All-New Mitsubishi Xforce

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has officially commenced mass production of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce.

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has achieved a major strategic milestone with the official mass-production line-off of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce at its assembly plant in Pekan, Pahang. This move underscores the brand’s commitment to the Malaysian market, transitioning the highly anticipated compact SUV into a locally assembled (CKD) model to support its regional product expansion.

To facilitate the production of the Xforce, MMM has significantly upgraded its manufacturing operations at the Pekan facility. These enhancements include the establishment of a dedicated Sub-Assembly Body Shop and the integration of advanced equipment across the painting, outfitting, and testing lines. These investments ensure that the facility can accommodate the technical requirements of the new model while maintaining high efficiency.

Production of the Xforce adheres to Mitsubishi Motors’ rigorous global manufacturing standards. Every stage of the process—from the initial body assembly to the final inspection—is governed by the same quality benchmarks used in Mitsubishi plants worldwide. This disciplined approach to workmanship ensures that every unit delivered to Malaysian customers meets the brand’s reputation for durability, reliability, and long-term build quality.

Takashi Sakamaki, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, noted that the mass production of the Xforce represents the direct application of Japanese manufacturing philosophy at the Pekan plant. He emphasized that the focus remains on delivering vehicles that provide customers with confidence and pride of ownership through precision engineering and continuous process improvement.

Following the successful line-off, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is preparing for a rapid market entry. Bookings for the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce are scheduled to open within the same week as the production announcement. The company has set an ambitious target to deliver the first 800 units to customers within April 2026, following a final round of comprehensive quality validation and production readiness checks.

The addition of the Xforce to the local assembly line strengthens Mitsubishi’s presence in the competitive SUV segment, joining the locally assembled XPANDER. This milestone reaffirms MMM’s long-term commitment to Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem, fostering local talent development and strengthening the domestic supply chain. With its blend of stylish design, driving performance, and proven reliability, the Xforce is positioned to be a significant contributor to Mitsubishi’s growth in the coming years.
