Well, Pro-Net is NOT taking over the Zeekr brand in Malaysia anytime soon
Based on recent reports, Pro-Net (a subsidiary of Proton) is NOT taking over the Zeekr brand in Malaysia. Yes, there were ‘rumblings’ that Zeekr might move under the Pro-Net umbrella since Zeekr, smart# cars and Proton are all under the Geely Auto ownership.

Here are the key details regarding Zeekr’s operations in Malaysia until early 2026.
Sentinel Automotive was appointed as the official importer and dealer for the brand from the start.
Then months later, Zeekr established its own national sales company in Malaysia, Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, which acts as the principal for brand management, marketing, and after-sales.
Meanwhile, Zeekr has announced plans to Locally Assemble (CKD) its vehicles in Malaysia to reduce prices, leveraging Geely’s investment in the Automotive High-Technology Valley (AHTV) in Tanjung Malim.
Pro-Net is focused on the smart EV brand (smart #1, #3 and #5) and Proton’s own electric and hybrid vehicles (e.MAS 5 and 7).
While they share a parent company like we mentioned earlier (Geely), you can now understand that the operational structures for Pro-Net and Zeekr in the Malaysian market are very different.
