Proton Saga driver dies after car crashes into street light post along this open road
A man in his 50s was killed after the car he was driving skidded off the road and crashed into a street light pole along the Kuala Baram (Sarawak) by-pass last Tuesday evening, police said.
This is rather strange accident because if you take a closer look you will notice that there is no skid marks which could be that he drove right smack center into the street light post.

Usually, in an open-road car accident like this one, there will be tire tracks on the road until where the car stopped, but with this, the tires did not lock up and slide. Sliding along often happens because the driver did not brake heavily, or the vehicle’s safety systems prevented it. In such cases, investigators look for other evidence like debris, damage patterns, or “ghost” marks left by modern braking systems.
