Porsche Introduces All-New 911 Cup for 2026 One-Make Series
Porsche has officially unveiled the next-generation 911 Cup, the latest evolution of its world-renowned one-make racing car. Set to debut in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Carrera Cup championships, and other Porsche-sanctioned events from 2026, the new model is based on the 992.2-generation 911 and promises more power, refined handling, and improved efficiency.

The naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six boxer engine now delivers 382 kW (520 PS), up by 10 PS from its predecessor, without reducing its 100-hour service life. Key upgrades include flow-optimised throttle valves, improved camshafts, and a robust four-disc racing clutch, allowing higher revs during standing starts.

Aerodynamic refinements enhance both speed and serviceability. A new three-piece front spoiler lip reduces repair costs, while integrated louvre vents and an optimised underbody improve downforce and high-speed stability. At the rear, a redesigned swan-neck wing and recycled carbon fibre body panels boost performance and sustainability.

Braking performance has been elevated with larger 380mm discs, wider pads, and improved cooling, extending durability for endurance racing. Bosch M5 ABS is now standard, with enhanced data processing for better control and safety. Steering improvements allow a tighter turning radius and better oversteer correction.

Inside, the cockpit has been refined for simplified race operations. A redesigned multifunction steering wheel offers quick adjustments to ABS and traction control, while an updated control panel allows in-car access to settings like exhaust mapping and pit lane speed.

Electronics have also seen a significant boost, with TPMS displaying tyre temperatures, a more powerful GPS system, and safety enhancements such as automatic engine restart after stalls and a new stroboscopic brake light function.

Porsche partnered with Michelin to develop new race tyres, tested extensively at Monza, the Lausitzring, and Weissach by professional drivers including Bastian Buus and Laurin Heinrich.

With over 5,381 one-make racing 911s produced to date, the new 911 Cup continues Porsche’s legacy as one of the world’s most successful race car platforms — now stronger, faster, and more sustainable than ever.
