Geely Galaxy M9 PHEV Secures 40,000 Pre-Sale Orders in a Day
Geely has announced that its flagship Galaxy M9 PHEV SUV achieved a staggering milestone of over 40,000 pre-sale orders within 24 hours of opening reservations on August 24. Positioned as the largest and most luxurious model in the Galaxy lineup, the M9 blends advanced hybrid power with premium comfort, targeting families who want space, technology, and performance in one package.
Flagship Design Inspired by Galaxy Starship Concept
The Galaxy M9 PHEV takes inspiration from the Galaxy Starship concept, first revealed at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. A striking “Brilliant Galaxy” LED light bar links the front headlamps, while a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor hints at its advanced driver-assistance features. Measuring 5,205 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall, with a 3,030 mm wheelbase. Geely highlights an impressive 88.3% space utilisation ratio, maximising cabin comfort. A dual-chamber air suspension with 95 mm of adjustable travel ensures both ride comfort and off-road versatility.
Luxurious Six-Seat Cabin Experience
Inside, the 2+2+2 seating layout focuses on individual comfort. All six seats are power-adjustable and come with heating, while the first two rows add ventilation and massage functions. A wide 180 mm central aisle makes accessing the third row effortless. Passengers benefit from luxury amenities such as a 17.3-inch 3K ceiling-mounted monitor, a folding table, and a 9.1-litre refrigerator. Practicality is strong, too, with 328 litres of cargo space expanding to 2,171 litres with the second and third rows folded flat. Entertainment comes from a 27-speaker Flyme Sound system, designed for immersive audio.
The cockpit combines advanced displays, including a 12.66-inch LCD instrument panel, a HUD, and a 30-inch panoramic touchscreen that spans both driver and front passenger zones. The Flyme Auto 2 infotainment system, powered by the AI assistant Eva, manages navigation, entertainment, and smart cabin controls with voice or touch input.
Advanced Driver Assistance with G-Pilot H5
The Galaxy M9’s G-Pilot H5 driver assistance package integrates 27 sensors, including LiDAR, powered by dual Nvidia Orin X processors delivering 508 TOPS. Key features include door-to-door assisted driving, city Navigate on Autopilot without preloaded maps, and automatic emergency braking at speeds up to 130 km/h—placing it among the most advanced systems in its class.
Hybrid Power with Supercar Performance
Under the hood, the M9 features Geely’s EM-P Hybrid 2.0 system. A 1.5-litre turbocharged engine pairs with three electric motors for a staggering total output of 649 kW (870 hp) and 1,165 Nm of torque. The AWD version accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, rivaling performance SUVs. Buyers can choose between two battery packs: an 18.4 kWh unit with 100 km electric range or a 41.5 kWh pack delivering 210 km. Even with a depleted battery, efficiency remains strong at 4.8L/100 km.
