The latest XPENG OTA update brings Pet Mode and other enhancements to owners for free.
XPENG Motors (NYSE: XPEV, HKEX: 9868) has announced the global rollout of its highly anticipated XOS 5.8.0 OTA update, introducing a wide range of new features designed to make driving safer, more intelligent, and more enjoyable. This marks XPENG’s third major OTA release in 2025, following the success of XOS 5.4.5 in January and XOS 5.6.0 in May.

Smarter Driving with Human-Machine Co-Pilot
With this update, XPENG becomes the first automaker in Europe to offer standard Human-Machine Co-Driving. When Lane Centering Control (LCC) is active, the system now shares control with the driver rather than disengaging, ensuring smoother and more natural assistance. Enhancements to Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) also enable higher cornering speeds and more comfortable deceleration, providing greater confidence on highways and city roads alike.

Introducing Pet Mode for Families
One of the standout features in XOS 5.8.0 is the brand-new Pet Mode. Designed to keep pets safe and comfortable when left briefly in the vehicle, the mode automatically closes windows, locks doors, and maintains interior climate control. Owners can monitor and control the feature remotely via the XPENG app, ensuring complete peace of mind.

Entertainment and Personalization
In-car entertainment also gets a boost with KaraFun, an app available in the XPENG in-car store that enables passengers to enjoy hands-free karaoke on the go. Meanwhile, personalization options expand with XCOMBO, which now supports 21 languages and over 700 customizable functions, allowing drivers to create tailor-made driving and comfort scenarios.

Global Comfort and Safety Enhancements
XPENG has also refined everyday usability based on global feedback. The minimum air conditioning temperature has been lowered to 16°C, catering to drivers in tropical climates like Malaysia. A new Dashcam Emergency Recording feature adds another layer of safety, while official preset scenarios let users switch between entertainment, comfort, safety, and energy-saving modes with a single tap.
Alex Tang, Head of International Development of Services at XPENG, stated:
“With the rollout of XOS 5.8.0, XPENG creates a more diverse, convenient, and intelligent mobility space for our users worldwide.”
As XPENG continues to expand globally, the OTA 5.8.0 update reinforces its vision of delivering ever-evolving smart mobility experiences that are responsive to user needs.
